Itineraries

Day One

Arrival Entebbe Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you are met and greeted by our company representative who will then transfer you to your place of accommodation. Check in and overnight.

Day Two

Kampala - Mbale

Check out of your hotel and drive East of Kampala to Mt Elgon in Mbale. Have lunch enroute then continue to Budadari for climb booking checkouts and portarage arrangements for an early start off the next day. (1050m) Overnight Mt. Elgon Hotel.

Day Three

SASA River Camp

Drive to Bumasolethe start point of your trek to begin your day hike of about 6 hours to SASA River Camp (1250m) for an overnight.

Day Four

Sasa River Camp - Mude Camp

Continue with your hike from Sasa River Camp to Mude Camp (3500m). This is 5kms journey. (3 – 4 hours)

Day Five

Mude Camp - Wagagai Peak

Continue with your hike from Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak (4161m)via the Jackson’s trail and back to Mude Camp.(8kms  x 2 = 16kms  about 8- 9 hours)

Day Six

Hunters cave Camp

Hike to the Hot springs via Suam gorge to Hunters cave Camp (16 kms about 10 – 11 hours)

Day Seven

Piswa Camp

Descend to Hunters Camp then to Piswa Camp (16Kms about 6 – 7 hours) for an overnight.

Day Eight

Piswa Camp - Kapkwata

This morning you finally descend from Piswa Camp to Kapkwata (11kms about 6 – 7.  Hours) were you’re met once again by your driver guide to transfer you to Siipi falls a nature walk and lunch. Later this afternoon drive Mbale Reasort Hotel for an overnight.

Day Nine

Elgon - Kampala

After breakfast, drive to Kampala with lunch stop over in Jinja where you visit the source of the Nile and Bujagali falls then drive back to Kampala/Entebbe.

Day Ten

Departure

Transfer to Airport for flight connections.

What to bring: One is required to bring own Tent, sleeping bag, warm clothes/gloves/hat, sturdy hiking boots, flash light, water bottle, rain gear and first Aid Kit.

Unlike Mountain Rwenzori where trekking starts on specific days of the week, trekking Mount Elgon takes place every other day of the week.
