Itineraries
Day One
Arrival at Kigali International Airport
Upon your arrival at Kigali airport, you will be met and greeted by your safari driver/guide who will then transfer you to Kigali for refreshment and lunch After lunch, part for Parc National des Volcanoes. The journey northwards goes through the beautiful terraced hillside that shows much of Rwanda’s landscape, gradually climbing to the base of the awesome Virunga volcanoes. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge (FB).
Day Two
Gorilla trekking
Today after an early morning breakfast, you will go gorilla trecking in Parc National des Volcans. Trecking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a wonderful experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the lodge in time for lunch. Some gorilla families however, are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge (FB).
Day Three
Gorilla trekking.
After an early morning breakfast, we again drive to Parc National des Virunga for yet another experience with the awesome creatures. Depending on time factor, we can then take a walk to visit the communities around the parc.
Day Four
Optional activity day
We have arrange of activities available which we shall conduct as per the clients mandatory:
Visit the golden monkeys
Visit the Ross Carr’s orphanage and Lake Kivu
Trek to Diana Fossey remains yard
Visit the local communities and schools in Gisenyi
Day Five
Transfer to Kigali
This day we transfer to Kigali via the Genocide memorial sights visiting the museum and local markets. Depending on your flight connections, we then transfer to airport for your flight connections.
