Jinja.

Early morning after breakfast, you are picked up from your hotel or residence, drive heading to the East of Kampala to a once known as Uganda’s industrial town Jinja. Today Jinja is regarded as a residential town full of old Indian styled structures that Indians lived in before the Idi Amin reign. It is said to be a milt culture town though the dominant tribe here is the Basoga.

Jinja boasts of being the place where River Nile, one of the longest Rivers in the world has its source.This has in time attracted tourists worldwide to visit the Source of the Nile. There is also Bujagali Falls in this same town where the day’s fun and adventure starts. The day’s activity are either White water Rafting OR Quad bike riding. Aside from sightseeing, Jinja offers a number of other exciting activities for tourists.

Quad bike Safari;
The ride takes you through Kyabirwa village and downstream along the river, past some of the big rapids such as ‘Total Gunga’ (the GSpot) and Silverback. This first section allows you get more used to riding your quadbike. The safari takes you through narrow tracks through farms, forest and villages beside the Nile. After lunch break, continue upstream a little away and out into the Nile hinterland onto sections that are only used for the full-day trips. The sections are selected by the guide depending on weather, seasonal conditions and one’s ability or inclination. A kit of what to use during the sport is provided for on site.

Wild or Mild white water Rafting; Full/half day white water rafting on the rapids of River Nile may be wild or mild. Here the client chooses either to be rowed downstream by professional guides in the safety raft OR may opt to raft the paddle-powered boats for one of the wildest raft rides on the planet. This is such a wonderful experience with lots of tales to tale. The expedition takes you over a 5 rapids grade offering a hilarious experience on the waters of RIVER NILE, known to be one of the longest Rivers in the world.

Birding: Birding sites include among others; Mabira forest, along the river banks, Simuka Island, and at the source.

Other activities while in jinja include;-

A visit to the Busoga kingdom, the cultural center, hand craft making and preparation of Basoga traditional meal are more of the activities done.
